Live and learn, right?
Its been a while since I’ve gotten the chance to be with my old group of friends back home. Even though its been so long since we’ve all seen each other, our friendships are the best kinds: the ones that go on and on, reminiscing about the past, creating fun new moments in the present, and talking about the future together, then we go on ‘pause’ when we all go our separate ways, living out our busy lives as working college students. But when we all get the chance, we all get back together again, and its like that ‘pause’ now becomes ‘resume’.
I love my OCHSA family. These people are my oldest friends, the ones I’ve grown up with, the ones that have been there through push and shove, and the ones that keep staying by my side no matter what. Even though we were missing a few tonight, the last few hours of today were so memorable to me. And in the Thanksgiving spirit, I’m so thankful, grateful, and blessed to have friends like these. And the best part of it all is that I know, without a doubt, that we’ll all be like this when we become old grannies and gramps chugging along on canes and walkers.
OCHSA fam bam, I love you guys from the bottom of my heart, and I thank God for blessing me with each and every one of your friendships. Good luck with the rest of Fall Quarter and finals! We’ll all be reunited again in a few weeks when Winter Break hits.
:]

“Maybe one day we’ll end up talking again,
Maybe one day we’ll go back to being just friends
Promise to love you baby ‘till my life ends
Cause your my sunset-set-set-set
No matter what happened between me and you,
I’ll always be the man that you can run to
I loved you then, I love you now and forever
Cause your my sunset-set-set-set”
And even though it was short, I’ll never forget.
Today I got the chance to see some of my family whom I haven’t seen for months because I’ve been so busy with school, work, and other priorities at Irvine. My family threw a huge Thanksgiving feast, Asian-style. I got the chance to catch up with my sister and cousin as we messed around and did a mini-family photoshoot. Oh, and I ate until I passed out on my cousin’s floor, hahaha.
This year, I have SO much to be thankful for. A lot has changed this past year, and there’s definitely much to be appreciated. I first want to thank God for providing me with everything I need in my life. He knows whats best, and He alone has blessed me with so many great things, such as great family, great friends, and great moments in my passions.
Next, I’m so thankful for my family. Seriously, you all have been so patient with me. I’m so difficult to handle, let alone see on a regular basis even though a I live at home and commute. I’m always in Irvine taking care of what I need to take care of, but as always I want you all to know that everything I do will benefit us in the future. I’m constantly thinking about you all. Mom, grandma, Kim, Chu Khanh, Co Hong, and Nathan, I want to say that I’m truly sorry for not always being there back at home. But I promise you all that I will make something out of myself and work hard in Irvine. I haven’t lost sight of my goals, and I definitely have not forgotten about you all. I love you all to death.
Father God, thank you for blessing me with the best family a guy could ever ask for. Seriously, I don’t deserve all of this. Today, as any other day, I want to thank you for my family. I love each and every one of them so much, and you have my word that I’ll be the man I aspire to be, not only for myself, but for them.
Family, I love you from the bottom of my heart <3

This Monday Bboys Anonymous’s dear friend and member, Yushi Shinagawa, departs back to his homeland of Japan after studying abroad here at UCI for four months. Even though he’s only been here for a short amount of time, he quickly became a part of this community and family. I learned a lot just by watching him dance, through the things he’s taught me, and by our talks here and there. This guy was always in a such a happy mood it made me smile every time we said what’s up to one another. He inspired me to dive deeper into the style of locking and taught me eight counts every time we met up at Welcome Week practice.
Yushi, we’re all going to miss you man. You have definitely inspired all of us into becoming greater dancers. Thank you for all the memories, fun times, and dance. We’ll see you when next summer rolls around again. Have a safe flight back to Tokyo, and stay fresh. BBA all day. Much love bro!

Yushi’s first performance with BBA! :D

Locking pose!

Oh, hay thare.

See you later, Yushi! We’ll see you soon :]
Scars | Papa Roach
“I tear my heart open, I sew myself shut
My weakness is that I care too much
And my scars remind me that the past is real
I tear my heart open just to feel.”
Throwback. This song is hella old school, haha.
